Discover the true meaning of spirit in this introspective teambuilding activity. Teams are given a set of creative challenges themed around mindfulness and spirituality as it pertains to Thai culture and are tasked to produce and present a team ‘temple’.
- To improve communication, delegation and work flow within the team
- To improve trust, planning and leadership skills
- To get to know one another in a fun and exciting setting
- To work on cooperation and understanding yourself, your colleagues and your team
- To consider ways in which these skills can be translated into a work environment
The objective for the day is for each team to create a ‘temple’ that is unique to them, their values and their spirituality. But your teams will need objects and iconography to put in their temple. Teams will be sent on a path of discovery around the city to reach certain locations. At each location there will be a different spiritual guide or guru waiting for them with a specific challenge. Upon successful completion of each challenge teams will be able to obtain or purchase an item that best represents the teams spirituality. Once teams have enough they must return to the hotel assemble their ‘temple’ ready for the unveiling at the end of the event.
Yoga challenge: your teams will meet a yoga guru who will lead you through a series of gruelling yet mind opening poses. Your teams must remember names and positions as you will be tested and what you have just learnt before moving on.
Macrobiotic/vegan well-being: your teams will be instructed by a chef, expert in the art of healthy food. Learn how to prepare and consume a variety of carbon neutral, environmentally friendly, animal free, food.
Meditation matters: your teams will be led through the steps to Nirvana. Learn how to clear your mind and control your breathing in order to reach a higher plane spiritual enlightenment.
Reiki Healing or Crystal Healing: your teams follow a lesson and learn the basics of this particular kind of healing on an energy level.
Tai Chi: learn the ancient Chinese martial art which involves no fighting. Slow fluid movements combined with rhythmic breathing will help your teams find a new level of inner peace.
Final challenge: building your team temple; teams build their temple with the items brought back from the spiritual discovery around the city and some other limited materials provided to match a pre-set or by the teams created theme and features.
The location for the event is usually at the client’s hotel, own office space, nearby park or beach at walking distance of the hotel and around the city for pre-challenges and collecting items.
This activity usually doesn’t include scoring or a winning team as it isn’t about competition or being the best. However a scoring element can be added upon request whereby the teams are judged based on the presentation, creativity and theme of their team temple.
Insurance and instructor supervision are important safety factors with any event, and in the event of an emergency, transport and medical backup will be standing by.
