Be the stars of your very own movie, TV series or documentary. You are challenged to take on the roles of producer, director, cameramen and the all-important talent and use your creative juices to formulate, plan and perform the movie of your choice. Horror, Sci-Fi, thriller or the 9 O Clock news, the possibilities are endless and entirely up to you.

Teams must conceptualize, draw storyboards, write and edit scripts in order to perform and record the video of their own choosing. Making Teams and industry professionals will guide your filmmakers through every step of the process and give expert tuition in how to choose a shoot location, block the movement and direct the scene.
Once all is ready and in place your videos are recorded with professional equipment; lights, costumes and music as required. Either your team will take control of the camera, or our video professionals will assist in the technical work.
The final ‘editing challenge’ will see teams, with the help of video professionals, in a limited amount of time, rush to create a finished short movie clip with the footage they have.
Depending on the time you have available, you can choose from video projects such as:

- Documentary about the serious (or not so serious) issues
- News Piece with ‘public interviews’
- Soap opera scene
- Comedy skit show
Type A) Teams have full creative control and decide the genre, theme and style by themselves. Final videos are judged by a panel for imagination, creativity and quality of final product. Judges can be making teams facilitators or client chooses.
Type B) Making teams provides a large selection of movie genres and scenarios/scenes. Teams must select one of each at random and make a video based on these stimuli. Final videos are judged on how well they adhere to the original objective as well as imagination, creativity, quality final product.
The location for the event is usually at the client’s hotel or nearby shooting locations.
The final edited videos are judged and scored to determine the winning team. The judges that score the teams are members of Making Teams and the client’s company management. The winners are presented with a trophy.
Insurance and instructor supervision are important safety factors with any event, and in the event of an emergency, transport and medical backup will be standing by.
The event briefing and debrief takes place at the activity location. The group is separated into teams and introduced to their facilitators, then the lead facilitator gives an introduction of the event including (safety) instructions and objectives for the activity.
During the debrief, the facilitator discusses the event challenges and asks each team questions to assess their performance before announcing the winning team (if applicable).
Briefing and debrief usually take around 15 minutes each but can be extended for more in-depth analysis of team performance.
The half day program takes up to 4 hours and the full day program up to 8 hours.
