Steven Ullman is an award-winning producer/director whose shows have been seen on and off Broadway, on National Tours, in Regional Theatres, and internationally. Currently, he is producing a docudrama film, Miss Lillian – The Lillian Carter Story. It is based on the one-woman stage play he produces. As a producer, he has won three Ovation Awards for Best Musical and a Fringe First Award at the Edinburgh Festival.
He was the Producing Artistic Director of the Civic Light Opera of South Bay Cities and the Hermosa Beach Playhouse for ten years. Other well-known shows he has produced include Hurlyburly starring Sean Penn and the six-year run of Greater Tuna in San Francisco.
He is also an accomplished director. Recently, he directed the Paris premiere of A Picasso, a play by Jeffrey Hatcher. He has over 50 credits as a Musical Director, as well as being a General Manager, a Company Manager, a Stage Manager, and an editor/dramaturg.
